Frequently asked questions
How many kW solar system do I need for my home?
It depends on your daily electricity usage. A typical Pakistani home (fans, lights, fridge, 1–2 ACs) needs a 5kW to 10kW system. The calculator above works out the exact size from your actual appliances.
What's the difference between on-grid, hybrid and off-grid?
On-grid runs on net metering and shuts off during load-shedding. Hybrid adds a battery so power stays on during outages and you can use your morning generation in the evening. Off-grid runs fully on solar and battery with no grid connection at all.
How much can I save every month with solar?
Savings depend on your electricity rate and usage. The calculator shows your estimated monthly saving based on your units and current rate.
Do I have to upload my bill?
No. The calculator estimates from your appliances only. If you enter last month's units, the result becomes more accurate.
How long does a solar installation take?
A typical home solar installation in Pakistan takes 1 to 3 days depending on system size and roof type. After installation, net metering approval from your electricity company (like K-Electric or LESCO) can take 4 to 8 weeks.
Is solar worth it in Pakistan in 2026?
Yes — with electricity rates above PKR 40 per unit, most home solar systems pay back their cost in 3 to 5 years. After that, savings are pure profit for the next 20+ years of panel life.
