About Us

Raj Solar Private Limited was founded in 2022 by three aspiring engineers and visionary friends with a bold mission: to disrupt Pakistan’s renewable energy landscape. Starting with the introduction of innovative solar thermal solutions for industrial and commercial use, Raj Solar also set out to reverse-engineer and improve residential solar water heaters. Our vision extends beyond rooftops — we aim to bring the solar PV revolution into the heart of urban life, from Karachi’s high-rise apartments to schools, hospitals, and other vital sectors still grappling with energy shortages and the rising cost of electricity. At Raj Solar, we’re driven by the belief that practical, locally engineered solutions can power a more sustainable future.

Trend Setters in Solar Thermal

Raj Solar is passionate about driving the renewable energy wave in Pakistan, specializing in both Solar PV and Solar Thermal solutions. Proudly known in the industry as the “Solar Geyser Guys,” our vision is to lead the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy for heating applications across all business sectors in Pakistan.

We have formed strong strategic alliances with international and local importers, suppliers, and retailers, enabling us to deliver high-quality products to our clients. Our skilled in-house team of engineers, technicians, electricians, and metal fabricators works under well-defined standard operating procedures to ensure quality workmanship every time.

Beyond our projects, Raj Solar actively participates in industry events and advocacy initiatives to promote the growth of solar and renewable energy in Pakistan. We have showcased our solutions at the Fakt Solar Expo and Pakistan Sustainability Week in Lahore (2023) and Karachi (2024, 2025), and attended the SMEDA seminar for small and medium manufacturing companies. As a member of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce, we also leverage its platform to raise energy, trade, and commerce concerns at the government level.

Ambition to Manufacture Change

Pakistan is on the verge of depleting its natural gas resources, which for decades have been used unabashedly for piped supply to urban centers as a cheap energy source for heating. While solar water heaters are a decades-old, mature technology, the limited number available in the market has often been expensive and heavily import-dependent. Raj Solar aims to change this by establishing local manufacturing capabilities, reducing costs, and making high-quality solar water heaters accessible to households and businesses across Pakistan.

Raj Solar works with diverse industrial sectors including textile, FMCG, pharmaceutical, and wood industries to meet their heating requirements. For each client, our consultants design bespoke solutions using a range of technologies such as the non-pressurized Shamsi 200 solar water heater, split-type pressurized solar water heaters with heat pipes, low-pressure thermal collector manifolds, and flat-bed solar water heaters.

Burhanuddin Husain

Chief Executive Officer

Burhanuddin envisions the very fine details of the projects he challenges himself with. Manufacturing solar water heaters in Pakistan is the idea he has been formulating for past 5 years.

He has a masters in power energy from TUM, Germany and bachelors in mechanical engineering with economics minor from HKU. He has formerly worked at IHS Markit and Informa, business consulting and market insights company.

Yousuf Baqir

Chief Operating Officer

Yousuf steers and motivates the work force and is particulate in getting things done. He supervises all the activities on the production floor where he is adamant on keeping the floor clean and tidy.

He has an engineering degree from McGill and has garnered over 5 years of hands-on experience with fabrication of industrial machinery and equipment.

Mufaddal Marvi

Chief Technical Officer

Mufaddal sketches ideas into reality; more into engineering design. He is the mechanical artist and finds crafty solutions to problems. Often you would find him in the field with measuring instruments, or running simulations on his computer.

He has a bachelors in mechanical engineering from GIKI and over 8 years of field work in Oil and Gas, construction, solar water heating, and restoration of heritage buildings.
